Senior School Prize Giving

What an amazing evening! Our first ever prize giving at Coventry University proved to be a great success. Thanks to Miss Monique and Mrs Sewell and our very hard working pupils for making it possible.
Thank you to those parents who have already taken to time to email to pass on their congratulations.

There was Ballet, Choral Speaking, (soon to be performed at the Coventry Drama Festival) and singing, including the whole senior school performing and item from Hamilton and The Impossible Dream.
Another really new feature was a slide show of events through last year with Head Boy, William, and Head Girl, Abigail, providing the commentary. The confidence with which they spoke was remarkable.

As for the speaker, it was Dr Kristina West, a former pupil, an international journalist and now a university lecturer enjoying a sabbatical as she researches for the three books promised to her publisher. The first one is soon to be published, the second in 2020. Kristina had something for everyone, not just the winners. It was a delight to listen to and two thirds of the eligible pupils won prizes, with most won by those with 100% attendance. I am sure you will join me in thanking Miss Monique and Mrs Sewell for enabling your children to excel.

The whole event was so successful that we have already booked the venue for next year and Prize Giving will be held on 17 October which will also include pupils in Years 5 and 6. Next year, academic prizes will be awarded to Years 7/8 and 9/10 rather than Key Stage 3 (Years 7, 8 & 9) and Key Stage 4 (Year 10).
