HEADMASTER'S WELCOME
It is always a privilege to be Head of a school, but even more so when it is Pattison, a school with such a magnificent history where inspiration, aspiration and dedication have brought about the art of the possible in so many students who have passed through its doors. This is a very special school because it links a strong academic focus with a highly acclaimed performing arts pedigree, all brought together with a strong pastoral care for every student, from Nursery through to Academy.
It is a unique school, and only by visiting us will you see at first-hand all the positive strengths of the school and the enjoyment the students have in their learning and their creative skills. If you would like to see more, please contact Mrs Teresa Hanks at office@pattisons.co.uk or phone her on 024 7645 5031. We all look forward to welcoming you here.
Mr Charles Stafford-Northcote
Head

Nursery
We welcome children from the age of 3 into our school, and we are participating in the government 15 and 30-hour scheme. Children receive an excellent start to their educational journey.

School
Moving from Early Years to Year 1 is a seamless transition. Along with their form teacher, pupils will have specialist staff for Art, Drama, Music, Dance, Sport and French.

Academy
This is our dance school section, with courses in all styles of dance offered, after school or on Saturdays. This is run by professionally trained dance teachers.
Year 11 pupils have been applying scientific thinking to real-world issues this week, investigating reaction times as part of their topic on travelling safety.
By timing their responses and exploring variables such as distraction, tiredness, and practice, pupils gained insight into how human factors influence reaction speed — and why alertness is vital for road safety.
An excellent example of how science at Pattison develops critical thinking, practical skills, and awareness of real-life applications.

Our Year 6 pupils enjoyed an inspiring taste of Senior School life this week — and what a day it was!
From dissecting organs in Science 🔬 to exploring artistic techniques in Art 🎨, building problem-solving skills in Maths ➗, expressing themselves in Drama 🎭, and practising conversation skills in French — every session offered something new and exciting.
Hands-on learning, creativity, and curiosity were on full display — a wonderful glimpse of what’s to come when they join our Senior School! 💫

On Monday, Years 5 and 6 became wildlife scientists for the day! Their challenge: discover how location and habitat shape animal characteristics.
What they did
Researched global habitats (rainforest, desert, ocean, tundra, grassland) using books and trusted online resources.
Identified common adaptations (camouflage, insulation, specialised limbs, nocturnal behaviour, etc.).
Synthesised findings to make connections and presented reports to the class.
What they learned
How environment influences survival traits.
How to turn research into clear, confident explanations.

Year 8 have been busy learning all about the weather — from pressure systems and cloud formations to how forecasts are made. To put their knowledge into practice, pupils created their very own weather reports, complete with maps, symbols, and plenty of confidence in front of the class. The Met Office had better watch out — we may have some future forecasters in our midst!
