Pattison
Welcome to Pattison
A Seamless Journey from Prep to Senior School
At Pattison, education is a journey that develops over time. From the Prep School through to the Senior School, pupils are supported by a consistent ethos, strong relationships and a curriculum designed to build confidence, creativity and academic success.
Families choose Pattison because their children are known well, supported carefully and encouraged to grow as individuals within a small, close-knit school community.
The Prep School
Strong Foundations for Confident Learners (Ages 3 to 11)
The Prep School provides a nurturing environment in which children develop curiosity, independence and a love of learning. Small class sizes allow staff to tailor learning to individual needs while maintaining high expectations.
Strong foundations in English and Mathematics are established alongside creative learning. Music, drama and performance play an important role in helping children develop confidence, communication skills and self-belief from an early age.
Pastoral care is central to daily life in the Prep School, and close communication with families ensures children feel secure, valued and understood.
Pupils leave the Prep School academically prepared, emotionally confident and ready for the increased independence of the Senior School.
Moving from Prep to Senior School
Transition is handled with care and continuity. Because Pattison is an all-through school, staff know pupils well and learning information passes naturally from one stage to the next.
This familiarity helps pupils settle quickly and approach the Senior School with confidence. For pupils who join us at Year 7 from other schools, a structured induction programme ensures they feel supported and part of the community from the outset.
The Senior School
Confidence, Independence and Academic Achievement (Ages 11 to 16)
The Senior School builds on the foundations established in the Prep years, guiding pupils towards greater independence and responsibility for their learning.
The curriculum is broad and balanced, leading to GCSE qualifications. Pupils study English, Mathematics and Science alongside humanities, languages and creative subjects such as music and drama.
Teaching is purposeful and supportive. Assessment and feedback help pupils understand their progress and set clear goals. Families are kept well informed through regular communication and reporting.
Alongside academic study, pupils are encouraged to develop confidence, resilience and strong communication skills that prepare them well for life beyond school.
Pastoral Care and Personal Development
Pastoral care underpins every stage of life at Pattison. Small class sizes and strong staff pupil relationships allow issues to be identified early and support to be put in place quickly.
The school places great value on wellbeing, confidence and personal growth. Pupils are encouraged to take pride in their achievements, reflect on their development and contribute positively to the school community.
Parents value the open and supportive relationship they have with staff, and the reassurance that their child is known and cared for.
An All-Through School Experience
Pattison offers a coherent educational journey from early years through to GCSE. The curriculum, expectations and values remain consistent as pupils move through the school, providing stability and reassurance for families.
While many pupils join us in the Prep School, others enter at key points such as Year 7. Every child is welcomed and supported, whatever their entry point.
This continuity allows pupils to grow in confidence and maturity without unnecessary disruption to their education.
